Based in New Zealand, Patricia Brickell has an extensive body of work from a lifetime of expression in colour. Each of her abstract oil paintings is an imaginative dialogue with the canvas.
A painter and poet for over six decades, her body of work includes a number of themes with the central message of colour as poetry and paint as movement and energetic vibration.

As energy, its job was to take
to the edge of the sky
all judgements, resentment and jealousies
and there to shake them off
into the light and
go back to creation
one by one they passed
through the eye of time
Mother is placed in
the garden of creation
she shimmers her wings
and crystals fly bringing
a cargo of souls to the earth
falling across the face of the sun
given law, life, love
and sun
